I Asked AI to Write a Microsoft Christmas Song — and I'm Genuinely Staggered

With only a couple of weeks until I'll be breaking for Christmas, yesterday I turned on my now very well-trodden Christmas background — one that many people who've been on calls with me this time of year will no doubt recognise!

It also set me thinking: with all this AI goodness around, what can I do that's different this year?

So, off to ChatGPT I go. Using the Meta AudioCraft Plus Helper, I tried the following prompt:

"An upbeat song about Microsoft technologies for Christmas in a girl band pop style"

The lyrics duly arrived. But I didn't just want words on a page — I wanted this to actually come to life.

After a bit of searching, I found lyricsintosong.ai — and to say I'm staggered is an understatement.

Here's what came out:

• A female version of my Microsoft Christmas song 🎤
• A boy band version 🎶

Granted, yes, a bit of tweaking is needed. But the speed at which I went from a passing idea to a fully produced piece of audio is genuinely remarkable. The barrier between a creative idea and creative output has collapsed in a way that still surprises me.
